General

If I am subscribed to another service, is it possible to transfer my music to IndieMassive.

This is no issue at all. All we would need is a DDEX export from your previous distributor. There are no fees for this!

If your distributor refuses to give you a DDEX export, please reach out to contact@indiemassive.com for assistance.

What is IndieMassive?

IndieMassive is a digital music distribution service which allows musicians to upload music to hundreds of stores such as Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, iTunes, YouTube, Shazam and lots more!

What is the IndieMarket?

The IndieMarket is a marketplace where artists can find services to help elevate their career. The IndieMarket provides services such as mix and mastering, video editing, Spotify, YouTube and TikTok promotion and plenty more! The services are not provided by IndieMassive, but they are purely based on first hand recommendations.

You can find the IndieMarket services here: https://indiemassive.com/indiemarket

Do you have a service that would benefit the careers of artists? Feel free to drop us a line on contact@indiemassive.com

Why choose IndieMassive?

IndieMassive offers fast and reliable delivery to all of the major stores whilst being the most transparent distribution service on the market. Whether you’re an independent musician or big-time label, distributing with IndieMassive means that you will have access to IndieMassive’s in-depth analytics tool, network of active playlist curators and the IndieMarket, a marketplace of useful and verified services.

Will my song be included in a Spotify playlist?

The IndieMassive editorial team reviews all songs for consideration for their playlist network. They never promise any placements but if you’re lucky enough to land a placement, then you’ll see this playlist feature on your Spotify for Artists.

What if I release under different pseudonyms?

The IndieMassive Artist plan relates to each artist name, so if you have different pseudonyms then you will need to purchase a plan for each. If you’re on a label plan, then you can release under various artists.

If you’re only featuring on a track then you don’t need a plan, but the main artist does.

What does distributing my music cost?

IndieMassive offers 2 different kinds of plans to distribute your music – the Artist Plan and various Label Plans. The Artist plan costs $39.99 a year or $3.99/month, while the Label Plan varies depending on the amount of artists in your catalog. Plans can be found here: https://indiemassive.com/plan-prices

What if my song is a cover, mixtape, remix or mashup?

A cover song is a recording of a song that was previously written. If you plan on releasing a cover song then you will need to obtain the mechanical license from the original copyright owner. This can be done with easysong.com here – https://www.easysong.com/

You must have your song cleared via easysong.com before you distribute via IndieMassive.

Are samples or vocals from the original singer allowed? No.

If your song is a mixtape, mashup or remix, you will also need to obtain the rights via easysong.com.

A soundalike cover song is one that sounds identical to the original. This can be perceived as deceptive and the song is likely to be hidden by many stores. If this is the case then please be wary that IndieMassive will not provide a refund.

Cover songs should NOT include the original performing artist in the track title or artist field.

INCORRECT:

  • Take It Easy (Originally Performed by The Eagles)
  • Take It Easy (Cover of The Eagles)
  • Take It Easy (Tribute to The Eagles)

CORRECT:

  • Take It Easy
  • Take It Easy (Acoustic Version)

Service

What do you mean with ‘Active Spotify Playlist Network Support’?

IndieMassive has an editorial team that manage the IndieMassive Spotify accounts linked below. If your song is a great fit for one of our playlists then you might just get added!

If new services are added, will they be available to existing customers as part of their existing services, or will there be additional charges?

All new services added would be included in your existing plan. We really mean it when we say zero hidden fees!

What are your policies regarding obscene lyrics, album titles or band names?

As long as your content is not sexist, racist or just objectively offensive, then we can distribute it for you.

How long will it take for my song to be online?

With IndieMassive, you can choose the release date yourself and with the majority of stores, the song will be online at 00:00 CEST.

What do you mean with zero hidden fees?

That’s right, IndieMassive has zero hidden fees, unlike other distribution companies where you’ll end up paying over double what you initially thought. The amount stated under ‘plans and prices’ is what you’ll pay, all in.

What are IndieMassive’s cover art formatting requirements?

Your cover art should follow the following guidelines:

  • JPG, PNG, or GIF image file
  • Smaller than 10MB
  • A perfect square and at least 1600 x 1600 pixels. iTunes recommends images to be 3000 x 3000 pixels )
  • Best-quality RGB Color mode (including black and white images)
  • Resolution of at least 72 dpi (300 dpi is better)
Images that you own the rights to distribute

*Failure to adhere to these requirements may result in your song being rejected by some stores.

What if I made a mistake whilst adding the details of my song?

It can sometimes happen that your song name has a typo, or you accidentally uploaded the wrong cover art. In this case, please reach out to the IndieMassive team at contact@indiemassive.com

What if there’s an error with my upload?

If there’s an error with your upload then you will receive an automated email and a member of the IndieMassive team will reach out to resolve this with you.
